Yeah. I brought it up Saturday morning and Mateo just… went quiet. And then I felt like I was talking to a wall, so I pushed harder.

I wasn't shutting you out. I needed a minute. When it comes fast like that I freeze, and then me freezing makes you push, and it spirals.

So there's a sequence here — Skyler moves toward, Mateo needs a beat, and the beat reads as a wall. Can we slow that down?

When you go quiet I assume you don't care about it. Or about me.

It's the opposite. I care so much I don't want to say the wrong thing. So I stall.

That's worth sitting with. The quiet isn't distance, it's care that hasn't found words yet. What if the pause had a name you both agreed on?
